He is an active speaker in conferences and developer of open source projects such as CSurfer Burp Suite extension for bypassing CSRF protections, Facebook Pwn (FBPwn) research project focused on exposing social networks' insecurities, and the browser exploitation framework (BeEF) aimed at exposing modern browsers' threats with many published articles and presentations.
Over 20 years of experience in the field of IT, IT Security, IT Consultancy. Have been working in a middle management position for over 10 years developing and implementing the corporate information Technology policies and processes. Have experience in achieving ISO Certifications (ISO 27001, ISO 20000, ISO 9001, ISO 22301) planning, implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and continual improvement.
Sherif El-Kassas is currently a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The American University in Cairo. His research interests are focused on security management, the application of formal methods in software engineering and computer security, and open source technologies. El-Kassas received his PhD from the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands.
